MARE25: images that inspire action
The Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea has announced the winners of its 6th edition. Once again, hundreds of photographers and creators have shared their passion for the sea through photography and reels — revealing its beauty and fragility to inspire action.
Discover the winning works and relive the Awards Gala held at CaixaForum Palma, where the MARE community gathered to celebrate the power of image as a driver of change.
MARE is much more than a contest. It’s a community that brings together art, science, and civic action to defend the future of the Balearic Sea. From focus to action.
Images not only show the beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea, but also become tools for awareness, action and transformation.
At MARE, the artist's gaze is just the beginning. Each image opens the door to understanding, connecting, and recognising what the sea needs.
From emotion to awareness. From awareness to action.
MANIFESTO
At MARE we believe in the power of images to transform perception and spark awareness.
Every photograph, video and reel is a tool to reveal the beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea, to inspire emotion and to mobilise society toward its conservation.
MARE is not just a contest: it's a conservation initiative that uses imagery as a starting point to generate knowledge, activate projects and strengthen the bond between people and the sea.
Because conservation begins with looking, understanding and getting involved.
And when many perspectives come together, a tide of collective action begins.
MARE is image, community and action for a sea with a future.

AUDIOVISUAL COMPETITION FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE BALEARIC SEA
MARE invites you to dive into the Balearic Sea through a competition where photography is the main artistic discipline.
