Underwater macro photography:from detail to personal vision

Macro photography invites us to discover small creatures and details that often go unnoticed beneath the waves. Learning to handle the equipment, master techniques, and control light allows one to develop a personal vision and progress toward creating an author’s project.

Biography:
Xavier Mas is deeply connected to the sea, both through his education and professional career. He is a marine biologist and the author of Els peixos de les Illes Balears and La biodiversitat marina d'Eivissa, as well as several scientific publications. His passion for the sea is also reflected in his hobbies, which include freediving, scuba diving, and underwater photography. He began diving 35 years ago and, two years later, ventured into underwater photography, eventually becoming a diving instructor. He has served as president and secretary of AFONIB, and throughout his career, his photographs have been published in books and magazines, earning numerous awards in competitions such as Memorial María Luisa, Asferico, Memorial Climent Picornell, and MARE.
