Calvià hosts the traveling exhibition "The Voice of the Sea", organized by MARE with the support of Calvià City Council and other entities. The exhibition features a selection of all the winning images from the 5th Edition of the Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea (2024), and will be on display at Plaza Momentum in Magaluf until July 22 before touring all the Balearic Islands.
The exhibition offers an immersive and interactive experience: each image includes a QR code that links to the author’s Instagram account, where they share a personal conservation message and their vision of the Balearic Sea.
With a design inspired by the visual language of social media, "The Voice of the Sea" seeks to break barriers and reach all kinds of audiences, inviting them to look, listen, and take action for marine conservation.
On Tuesday, July 3 at 7:00 p.m., a visit to the traveling exhibition will take place with the presence of members from the Calvià City Council, MARE, and the Marilles Foundation, which is the driving force behind the project. Attendees will include Abraham Calero and Amador Garcias, members of the MARE team, as well as Mayor Juan Antonio Amengual and Deputy Mayor for Tourism Elisa Monserrat from the Calvià City Council. They will reaffirm the municipality’s support for the MARE project and its commitment to the conservation of the Balearic Sea, emphasizing the importance of protecting this ecosystem and collaborating with organizations that work to safeguard its health. The exhibition is funded by the Sustainable Tourism Tax.
