The Port of Palma hosts MARE’s travelling exhibition “The Voice of the Sea”

From 14 to 31 August, the headquarters of the Balearic Port Authority (APB) in the Port of Palma host MARE’s travelling exhibition “The Voice of the Sea”, featuring a selection of the winning images from the 5th Edition of the Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea.

The exhibition offers an immersive and contemporary experience: each photograph includes a QR code that links to the Instagram accounts of the authors, who share their vision and commitment to marine conservation in their own words. Inspired by the visual language of social media, the exhibition seeks to reach all audiences, especially younger generations.

Visitors are able to enjoy 32 images showcasing the underwater biodiversity of the Balearic Mediterranean, ecological denunciation scenes, and portraits that capture the relationship between people and the sea. The works include the winners of the Animalia, Botanica, Sapiens, Denuntiare and Nostrum categories, as well as special mentions for Marine Protected Areas, Water Quality, and the Public Vote.

“At the Balearic Port Authority we strongly support this type of project that raises awareness about the importance of the sea as a vital resource. Initiatives such as MARE allow us to bring together efforts from different sectors to promote a culture of respect and care for the marine environment,” said APB President Javier Sanz.

After its stop in Palma, the exhibition will continue touring different parts of the archipelago:

  • Port Adriano (Mallorca): 1–14 September

  • Sant Francesc (Formentera): 15 September – 5 October

  • Sant Josep de sa Talaia (Ibiza): 17 October – 9 November
