MARE's traveling exhibition returns to Formentera

The exhibition can be visited at Carrer Llaüt des Damians until September 19.

MARE returns to Formentera with the photographic exhibition 'Significar', which brings the richness, beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea closer to the people of Formentera.

Formentera will host the photographic exhibition 'Significar' from August 28 to September 19, by MARE, to bring the richness, beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea closer to the public. It is an immersion in the marine environment based on a street exhibition with images of the sea that surrounds us.

This exhibition is based on the different meanings of words to establish a game between the spectators and the winning images of the 2023 edition of MARE and aims to contribute to the conservation of the Balearic Sea through humor, word games and the dialogue between words and photography.

The exhibition can be seen on Calle des Llaüt des Damians, in Sant Francesc.

The opening ceremony of the MARE travelling exhibition took place in San Francesc with the presence of the President of the Formentera Island Council, Mr. Lorenzo Córdoba, who highlighted the importance of this type of exhibition "because it shows us the Mediterranean Sea in a way that we do not usually see it and raises awareness among the population and anyone who visits it, of the importance of raising awareness about the protection and conservation of our Mediterranean Sea." He also thanked MARE for once again including the island of Formentera in its annual exhibition of the award-winning images in its annual photography competition.

Abraham Calero, MARE's technical coordinator, who was present at the opening ceremony, recalled that registrations to participate in the MARE24 edition are open until September 15. "We want to have everyone's attention, both from young participants, amateurs and experts, who with their images help us to bring to light this valuable ecosystem that we have and that is worth preserving."
