In 2025, MARE once again became a meeting point for all those who love and defend the sea.
More than 1,000 participants shared their perspectives on the beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea, through photographs and reels that invite reflection on the relationship between humans and the marine environment.

During the gala, hosted by Miriam García and broadcasted live on IB3, the winning works in the different photography and reels categories were announced, selected by a jury composed of Ana Palacios, Emma Cebrián, and Merche Llobera.
The awarded pieces stood out for their technical and artistic quality, but above all for their ability to move, connect, and inspire action.

For the first time, MARE also introduced the MARE Sea Reel Contest, a joint initiative with Cultura Inquieta aimed at bringing the message of marine conservation closer to younger audiences and digital creators through the audiovisual language of social media.

The event featured the institutional participation of representatives from the City Councils of Palma and Calvià, and the support of numerous organizations that make the growth of the MARE project possible year after year.

“MARE acts as the voice of the sea, giving it expression through the images you share. It reminds us that we cannot wait any longer — we must act,” said Amador Garcias Vich, MARE Coordinator.
